I’ve been fortunate to lead in spaces where service, strategy, and systems-building intersect—from student government and academic programming to nonprofit board service and community advocacy. Each role deepened my commitment to collaborative leadership, dignity-centered design, and data-informed decision making.
Program Analyst; Project Assistant | 2021 – Present
At San Diego Miramar College, I supported students across multiple programs in the Student Affairs division—including Basic Needs, the Dreamers Support Office, and the Pride Program. I focused on increasing access, simplifying service delivery, and creating systems that prioritized dignity and inclusion. Through program design, systems improvements, and outreach, I helped grow reach and strengthen institutional support for some of our most marginalized students.
Increased Dreamers office appointments by 689%
Grew workshop participation by 183% over three years
Designed intake tracking systems serving 1000+ students annually
Led annual Undocumented Student Conference (174 attendees, 2024)
Coordinated professional development trainings for 140+ educators and staff
Established MOU providing free immigration legal services to students and staff (39 per year)
To streamline resource access and reduce stigma, I developed two student-facing tools: the Dreamers Profile—a secure, intake system that facilitated holistic referrals—and the Pantry Pickup Program, an online ordering and distribution model that increased food pantry participation by simplifying the experience.
Both tools were designed with equity and accessibility at their core. Additionally, I created data-tracking dashboards for three programs increasing accountability for internal review and external grant reporting.
I founded ASG Insiders, a student-facing newsletter designed to increase transparency, highlight underused campus services, and boost turnout at engagement events. The project helped strengthen ASG’s visibility while reinforcing a culture of accountability and service.
President; Representative | 2020 – 2022
Elected as a student representative and later as President, I advocated for expanded basic needs access, scholarship opportunities, and dignity-forward campus policies. I led student recovery efforts following campus shutdowns and helped restore student programming post-COVID.

Co-authored the college's officially-adopted Equity Definition and launched inaugural Equity Summit
Student Trustee | 2021 – 2022

Advocated for $975K federal textbook grant
Coordinated Think Dignity collaboration for student services
Provided board oversight on capital projects and district initiatives
My work with Mortar Board wasn’t just about boosting applications or sending newsletters—it was about creating a cohesive voice for a chapter rooted in service and scholarship. By aligning messaging with our values and goals, I helped our team connect with new members, engage alumni, and earn national recognition not just for what we did, but for how we communicated who we were.
Vice President of Communications, Alumni Board Member | 2023 – 2024
As Vice President of Communications for the Jane K. Smith Cap & Gown chapter of Mortar Board National Senior Honor Society at SDSU, I led strategic outreach and engagement efforts that significantly elevated our chapter’s visibility, reach, and impact. My work spanned internal communications, alumni relations, digital strategy, and executive messaging.

President | 2020 – 2022
As Club Spectrum President, I led Miramar College’s LGBTQ+ student organization with a focus on education, inclusion, and solidarity across communities. I built infrastructure for the club’s visibility and sustainability, including launching a comprehensive website and coordinating closely with faculty, administrators, and fellow student leaders. My leadership emphasized collaboration, intersectionality, and service—expanding the club’s impact well beyond its membership.
Launched a public-facing website to inform students about the club and increase access to queer-affirming campus and community resources
Created and curated the LGBTQ+ Figures Through History digital education project
Co-organized a ThanksGiving Back food distribution providing Thanksgiving meals to over 100 students and their families
Led a virtual community game night and raffle spotlighting local, minority-owned businesses
Raised $5,000+ for HIV/AIDS prevention as a fundraising team leader for San Diego AIDS Walk
Advocated for and co-facilitated LGBTQX Alliance’s Community Days virtual event, serving as panelist and moderator in discussions on identity, student life, and undocumented queer advocacy
I approached my time in Club Spectrum not just as LGBTQ+ advocacy, but as a platform for collective action. Whether coordinating five student orgs for food distribution, fundraising for HIV/AIDS research, or moderating panels on queer migration, I saw every project as a chance to practice solidarity—and to make visibility feel like belonging.
We didn’t just meet—we built rhythms. From hiking trails to pizza nights to member spotlights, I designed experiences that recognized the full lives of non-traditional students.
Every touchpoint—from a certificate to a coffee chat—was intentional, inclusive, and rooted in the belief that success looks different for everyone, but community helps make it possible.
Co-Founder & Vice President | 2022 – 2024
As Co-Founder and Vice President of The 25+ Aztecs, San Diego State University’s first organization for older and non-traditional students, I helped build a vibrant community for those navigating higher education later in life. Our members included student parents, veterans, re-entry learners, and transfer students balancing jobs and families. Through inclusive programming, recognition campaigns, and behind-the-scenes reforms, I worked to foster a culture of belonging while advocating for meaningful institutional change.

Coordinated the club’s annual Winter Social and signature Spring Boat Float
Featured in The Daily Aztec for advocacy and visibility efforts supporting non-traditional students
Board Member & Communications Chair | 2011 – Present
My journey with Think Dignity began in 2011 as a volunteer distributing resources to unhoused San Diegans. Over a decade later, I now serve on the board of directors and chair the Communications Committee, where I lead strategy for public messaging, donor engagement, and event communications. At every stage, my work has been guided by one simple principle: dignity is a human right. Whether behind the scenes or in public-facing roles, I’ve helped shape the organization’s voice, visibility, and connection to community.
Lead organization-wide communications and branding strategy, including message development and campaign planning
Write and design Think Dignity’s monthly newsletter, reaching 2,800+ donors, stakeholders, and partners
Manage donor engagement and lead volunteer coordination for major giving events (100–150 guests)
Co-developed board reporting and performance dashboards to support data-informed fundraising
Coordinate press outreach, develop media releases, and help position the organization publicly during major campaigns
Supported the launch and relaunch of key programs, including the Basic Dignity Coalition
Honored as 2024 Volunteer of the Year for over a decade of sustained leadership and service
My first Think Dignity project was handing out basic dignity and survival supplies. Today, I help shape how we communicate our work to donors, the media, and the broader community. Whether drafting press releases or creating fundraising campaigns, I see every message as an opportunity—to educate, to inspire, and to affirm the dignity of those we serve.
Advancing basic dignity for people experiencing homelessness through innovative and effective programming, legal services, and advocacy.
