Created as a course project for HON 413: Inequities in Public Health at San Diego State University, Undocumented (2022) explores the Dreamers Movement—activism supporting individuals brought to the U.S. as children. Weaving research, legislative context, and public health themes, the film highlights the critical economic and social contributions of undocumented communities.
After its classroom debut, it was used in support presentations for undocumented and immigrant students at San Diego Miramar College and later published on YouTube as a public advocacy resource. With a foundation in academic research and creative production, the film amplifies immigrant voices and raises awareness about the human impact of immigration policies.
Production Notes: Developed using open-source media assets plus original scoring and narration. Supported by research from the American Immigration Council, ACLU, and Immigrants Rising, the documentary balances rigor with narrative accessibility.
